Paul U. WITH. Anderson is a very average director. He knows how to make a cheerful action movie, but all his works are disposable and fade from memory very quickly, with rare exceptions. Paul had every chance to become an outstanding filmmaker, although every time something went wrong – either the studio killed a good concept, then cut the film beyond recognition, then the audience did not go, or the director himself got up on the wrong foot and filmed a popcorn trinket, overloaded with special effects and bright, but quickly boring action. Without a doubt, Paul is a good visionary – all his films look very stylish and “tasty”, but as for the internal fullness, it’s very, very sad. And not everything is good with the visuals, because it is all without a doubt very beautiful, but it is too cumbersome and overloaded with unnecessary fake whistles, the director simply lacks the sense of proportion and taste that Zack Snyder once had. He’s not bad, and at his peak he’s very, very good, but let’s be honest, he doesn’t deserve cult fame. Although I could.

One director can make a brilliant film and remain a completely unknown figure, while another can make a trinket for a couple of evenings and receive cult status, thanks to which he can continue filming for a very, very long time, even despite failures and creative setbacks. It’s the second one we’ll talk about today. Paul U. WITH. Anderson is a cult personality, not least due to the fact that he was able to do the seemingly impossible – make two whole moderately good films based on video games, which, compared to other crafts, look like masterpieces. But things just didn’t work out for him – failure after failure, if not financially, then artistically. How? Why? Or maybe it’s not failure after failure, it’s just that you and I are village fools and didn’t see the worth? Let’s find out!

Paul U. WITH. Anderson was born on March 4, 1965 in the city of Newcastle-upon-Tyne (Just like that – Newcastle is an industrial hub and port at the mouth of the River Tyne, which flows into the North Sea, which is why its name), this is in the UK. The city was known for its miners and coal miners, so it would be logical to assume that Paul should have followed in the footsteps of his ancestors and devoted his life to digging coal and other goodies. But it didn’t work out, because Paul had completely different inclinations – he was an excellent student in humanities subjects at school and immensely adored science fiction. Having reached adulthood, the young science fiction lover leaves his father’s house and enters the University of Wark, specializing in literature and cinema, which will later help him in writing scripts and successfully receives a bachelor’s degree.

But Paul did not immediately come to directing – only at the age of 29 did he mature enough to shoot and direct his first film – the low-budget thriller "Shopping" with, for a second, Jude Law in the lead roles.

Well and: The debut was average. That is, quite average. Don’t be fooled by the “Action” column in the description on various sites, don’t be fooled by the moderately action-packed trailer, this is an insanely drawn-out and amorphous thriller that simply has nothing to give its viewer. Well, teenagers rob stores, so what?? They will not draw any conclusions, no catharsis will occur, and the viewer is left in bewilderment, they say, and it was worth stretching such a simple story for two hours? There’s also not much of a “thriller” vibe here, because everything is very leisurely, measured and calm, just the thing for the noble to relax while watching. The actors do not correct the situation in any way, they somehow mumble their lines, but maintain the illusion of vigorous activity on the screen. It’s not a bad movie, it’s not a good movie, it’s just no good, I watched it and forgot the next day, which is sad.
The debut didn’t go well. “Shopping” was banned in the UK, because it taught children bad things (At least that’s what the ratings commission thought), but in the USA it received a video release and happily disappeared. But every cloud has a silver lining – someone thought of nominating the film in the “Best Film” category at the International Fantastic Film Festival in Porto, so at least Paul stroked his ego. Apparently, it was there that the cunning filmmakers noticed the young talent, because they entrusted the director with a very important task – to make a film based on a video game. Yes, not just any “Mario”, but “Mortal Kombat”, which in those days was insanely, incredibly, epically popular among everyone and everything. The producers gave Paul a modest 20 million dollars, one immortal Scottish warrior, complete freedom of action and froze in anticipation. What happened? A bomb came out.
Mortal Kombat (1995)
Local story:Several centuries ago, Shang Tsung, a magician from the other world, took control of an ancient military tournament. His goal is to plunge our world into chaos. To save humanity from destruction, three warriors will have to fight… a mortal battle with the forces of darkness.

Bomb to all bombs: Overall, an amazing Mortal Kombat movie. Purely hypothetically, in all respects it’s not very good. Well, really, let’s put aside nostalgia and look at the picture without rose-colored glasses – poor dialogues, virtually no plot, not the best actors (That is, MacLeod, the guy playing Cage and Takagawa are dragging, but the rest are not very good), crooked combat, and the special effects let us down. Noooooooooo, why the hell do we have to take off these very glasses?? Mortal Kombat is one hell of a movie! Without a doubt, the great game received a film adaptation that matches its spirit. Yes, there are shortcomings here: a carriage and a small cart, but damn, how great it all looks and is reconsidered! It’s felt that the creators had a blast filming their creation (Unlike the creators of “Street Fighter”), Paul was a huge fan of the original source, which is why the film literally sparkles with energy and some kind of lightness, so you watched it – and it’s as if you had a good rest in body and soul. And the disadvantages? To hell with them, what a cheerful movie, leave me alone with your quibbles. Good guys cheerfully beat the bad guys, make cheap jokes and all this to an amazing soundtrack – what more could you ask for?? Well, the film absolutely deserves the unofficial title “Best Game Adaptation”. Eh, there were times when people made excellent entertaining films..
It was a success. With a budget of 20 million, the film grossed 122 million and almost immediately gained cult status among viewers. Critics spat, which was predictable, but who cares about the opinion of all those who love subtle style when the film collects such box office? The main thing is that the film turned out to be a real gift for fans of the game, and nothing more was required.Around the same time, Paul Thomas Anderson, an Oscar-winning director of a bunch of good dramas, appeared on the Hollywood horizon. To prevent our patient from being confused with a drama addict, he began using the initials of his other two names, becoming Paul W. WITH. Anderson. But this is not the time to stand still! This time the stakes were much more serious, because Paul took on not just anything, but the sci-fi horror film “Through the Horizon”. It would seem, so what’s wrong with that, but the film had a very serious budget of 70 million dollars and a bunch of stars in the cast. Success was assured, because Hellraiser was almost launched in space (in normal space, and not in one of the many sequels of “Hellraiser”), but something unexpected happened, the studio looked at Paul’s creation and did something that the director would encounter more than once – took up the editing scissors, because the studio wanted less overwhelming amounts of tin, blood and biblical references and more action so that people’s brains don’t get too strained. And off we go..
Through the Horizon (Event Horizon – 1997)
Plot:2047. A rescue spaceship is sent to the edge of the solar system in order to find out what happened to the crew of the first starship, designed to travel at superluminal speeds and which disappeared without a trace on its first flight. Suddenly appearing out of nowhere, it was discovered near the distant planet Neptune.

There is no life here: There are terrible rumors around "Through the Horizon", almost as terrible as those around "Alien vs. Predator". Initially, the film was MUCH longer, much bloodier and tougher, but in the end it was cut to a standard hour and a half, and a lot of important scenes were left on the cutting floor that revealed the plot and raised the degree of madness and cruelty to unknown heights. People who saw the version that was not destroyed by greedy producers unanimously insisted that Paul made a film equal in its epic science-fiction-horror coolness to the best representatives of cosmic horror. But the producers didn’t need a good film, they needed a film where you can turn off your head and eat delicious food. So what we ended up with was not exactly an impressive film. Yes, it contains echoes of the very picture that we should have received, but this does not change the main thing. “Through the Horizon” in its current form looks like a stupid and boring popcorn horror film, with a bunch of plot holes, jump scares and scenes that end mid-sentence because they were cut. On the plus side, we can note the impressive scenery, some kind of atmosphere, and the concept itself is very successful. There are many things to love about the film, but it physically hurts me to watch it, because somewhere out there, on the editing table, much better and more creative work remained. In any case, fans of space horror will be satisfied, because they don’t make films like this anymore, even in a cropped form, “Through the Horizon” is capable of surprising and hooking with the atmosphere of a nightmare.
The greedy producers made a miscalculation – the film failed epically at the box office, most likely thanks to the edits. For a 70 million colossus, the box office of 26 million dollars is not serious. Critics again spat, noting that somewhere there, very deep, a wonderful film was hiding. “Through the Horizon” was not forgotten, now this horror film is considered a cult film, and fans of the film still sigh sadly and hope to someday see the full version of the film. Despite the weak box office, the producers were not disappointed in Paul, because he proved his creativity and entrusted him with another interesting project – a sequel, for a second, to the legendary “Blade Runner” (Okay, not exactly a sequel, but the film takes place in the same universe), called “Soldier”, Kurt Russell and “action film” in the genre column. And again something went wrong. No, it’s clear what went wrong, but more on that below.
Soldier (Soldier – 1998)
Plot:Soldiers are drafted into the army almost from the cradle. The child ends up in a military school, where, without parents and any discounts on childhood, professional soldiers are trained from selected human material. Todd becomes one of these soldiers. He fought until he was over 40 years old, becoming the best in his squad. When newcomers were sent to his spaceship, who in every respect should be superior to the veterans, led by a colonel, a West Point graduate, the latter pitted the three veterans against the new fighter, the old men lost. They were thrown into a landfill on the distant planet of Arcadia, but Todd survived. He was left by local settlers, whose ship made an emergency landing on this planet many years ago, Todd remained to live among them. In his soul there was not only fear and discipline, as he said to the sweet, beautiful woman who was leaving him, but also kindness. When the colonel landed new soldiers on the planet to test them in an operation to exterminate the inhabitants of the colony, Todd proved that experience, combined with the human factor, is worth much more than genetic selection and strong muscles.

Like a kinchik:You know, it’s pretty cheerful. Of course, there is no smell of any Blade Runner sequel here, for fear of God, if you don’t know that both films take place in the same universe, then you will never get to such calico. But that’s not the point, because the film is good. By no means brilliant, but everything shoots and explodes very fun, so as an action movie, “Soldier” holds the bar. The plot is as simple as two pennies, but at the same time it is quite detailed and filled with a bunch of interesting things and detailed details, which is not particularly common in the genre, and it fulfills its main task – it does not allow you to stop watching. Of the obvious disadvantages, the only one that can be mentioned is, SUDDENLY, Kurt Russell. It’s not that he’s bad, but he’s so gray and dull that it makes him kind of sad. Of course, one can object to this that Kurt’s role is that of an emotionless, stern soldier. But as the plot progresses, Russell’s hero, in theory, undergoes a transformation, turning from a fighting log with a machine gun into a feeling birch tree, sowing goodness and prosperity, but in Kurt Russell’s performance this is completely imperceptible. Just as he was a log, he remains so. Otherwise, it’s highly recommended to watch, because this is a great action movie. It won’t stay in your memory for long, but it will definitely give you a wonderful evening.

But because the studio put a screw on the film, completely neglecting the advertising of its brainchild. Well, the absolutely gray name “Soldier” played its role, because it’s boring and doesn’t mean anything at all. Apparently Paul was somewhat upset by the news about the second failure in a row, because he left big cinema in order to devote himself to television. In 2000, he filmed the television film “The View,” based on his own script. But the TV movie is not easy, you have horror, detective, thriller, references to “Alice in Wonderland”, and much more.
The Sight (2000)

Of the undoubted advantages – Andrew McCarthy is incredibly good, he plays like a god, although it would seem that the film is modest
Well, how is it: It’s boring, girls. It doesn’t seem like there’s any smell of obvious crap here, because everything was filmed and acted out to, if not a solid “B”, then certainly a peppy “C”, but it doesn’t sink into the soul at all. This thing was shot well, acted just as well, the plot is there, and there is intrigue (Gray, but at least it’s there), but “Vzglyad” came out boring. And it seems like the film is only an hour and a half long, but in the second half it descends into such epic tediousness that I began to have the most natural struggle with sleep. The picture simply has nothing to hook the viewer, no matter how hard it tries, you will still yawn and pray to God that the film ends quickly. It’s just that everything that happens in the film is not nearly as interesting as the director thought. The film is average, average in a bad way. Looked – forgot, didn’t look – didn’t lose anything, I recommend it as a good sleeping pill. Anderson didn’t work out with television, because the film went completely unnoticed by anyone. Needed a hit, needed it urgently. What made Anderson famous?? Movie based on the game. Which computer game adaptation project has been simmering in production hell for a long time?? Resident Evil. Paul was not entrusted with a big budget this time, 33 million, plus he wrote the script himself, completely changing the concept that John Romero proposed in 1999. Not just another good film adaptation was born, a franchise was born, which over time will move as far as possible from the original source and turn into something else. But this is still a long way off until the first film is released.
Resident Evil (2002)

So what’s there: Paul U. WITH. Anderson went far from the most obvious route when filming Resident Evil. If John Romero tried to write a script as close as possible to the original game, then Anderson rather dashed off a work based on the film, the only things that connect the film with the game are Umbrella, a virus, and a couple of familiar names, otherwise it’s a completely different thing. And it’s definitely a good thing. Here’s a little secret for you – I just love films on the theme “Special forces\military\doctors\firemen\ponies go to a laboratory\military base\space station and get rid of an unknown bully there,” and “Resident Evil” is one of the best representatives of this type of film. This is a furious zombie action game that doesn’t slow down for a second, with, surprisingly, not the worst plot and an awesome soundtrack. It’s quite banal, but thanks to a couple of plot points and twists it manages to be quite competent, especially for this genre. The actors are just as good as they need to be, Milla Jovovich has not yet lost the remnants of her already thin acting and beams with charisma, and Michelle Rodriguez and James sparkle in the background I’m like Thomas Jane, but not as talented Purefoy. On the bad side – those who are waiting for a meticulous film adaptation, get ready to have a heart attack, because this is a completely different movie. The good thing is that the film didn’t descend into plot schizophrenia and a slow-mo parade like a sequel, which is why it’s quite cheerfully rewatched even now, which is an achievement for Anderson.
The second entry into the territory of video game adaptations was very successful. The critics once again spat, because it was unspiritual, not at all in the game and it was not right for the director to take Milla Jovovich as his wife after filming. But the film collected the well-deserved 100 million, and then you know – a multi-million dollar franchise, the further it goes, the more money the sequels collect, schizophrenia progresses, Alice degrades, but we’ll talk about that later. Now Paul catches the golden bird – he is given the opportunity to launch the project “Alien vs. Predator”, a crossover of two of the most famous monsters in the world of cinema. In all interviews, Paul swore and swore that he was a hell of a fan of both characters, and the film makes the fans squeal. And when the film came out they squeaked. Not out of delight.

Whoever wins, we lose. This is of course yeah… a film that can be discussed for a long time. But I won’t do that, I’ll just tell you what happened. But if you are more interested not in what happened, but why it turned out this way, then go to the spoiler.
So why did it happen what it did?? I tell the terrible story of the making of the film. Initially, everything was good, FOX literally flowed from Anderson’s ideas, the script was a real treat for the fans, because the director personally rewrote it and made it suitable, everything was unrealistically cool, even Lance Henriksen was invited. And when they started filming, the REAL problems began. Filming took place under the constant control of the studio; the director could not even sneeze without the knowledge of the management. And away we go. FOX management is no longer satisfied with literally everything. In the original script, people were supposed to be secondary characters, the main action took place around Predators and Aliens, which eventually had to be changed, making people the main characters. It is precisely because of this that the human characters in the film are so poor and unmemorable, because there was no time to write suitable characters. A lot of scenes were supposed to take place on the Predator planet, but again, no. The filming took place in a constant atmosphere of tension, because Anderson was in constant conflict with Fox, every day there was a scandal, every day a new change and he had to literally destroy his own brainchild for the sake of the studio. Paul remained adamant about one thing: the film had to be released with an adult rating, because the director believed that a softer rating would kill the atmosphere of the film. Finally, filming ended, the film went gold. Gone, but not quite. I can’t even imagine how the director felt when he came to the premiere. Without his knowledge, the film was completely re-edited, a number of plot scenes were removed in order to make the film shorter, plus all the bloody scenes were missing, or were reworked using computer graphics, for the sake of a softer rating. Anderson did not remain in debt, and simply disowned the film, saying that this was not his film, this is not what he wanted to show people. These are the things.
Well, what can I say. This is crazy bullshit. For the average viewer. For fans this is a slap in the face. Instead of an epic confrontation between two colossi, we got something strange, crumpled, stinking and not clear for whom it was made. Oh my God, what a movie about Predator and Alien with a pg-13 rating?! Do you think children will do this??! Who even thought this was a good idea??! The predator no longer rips the skin off his victims, he carefully hangs them in their clothes, apparently so that they do not freeze. The alien now grows up in five minutes and runs around like crazy, so that there is more action. People are no longer cornered victims, using their minds and wits to survive – they are now screaming and firing at all the stupid people, each of whom you will wish a slow and painful death. And so on at every step – this is not canon, there is not canon, there is a plot hole here, there is a plot hole there. And okay, they deviated from the canon, well, to hell with it, but the film is also outrageously stupid, not least thanks to the human characters who do and say such vicious things that it seems like they’re all doing it, and shame on you. Very bad, friends. And I don’t want to praise him, although there is something for it. I’ll be objective – the scenery is excellent, there are useful references, a normal plot looms somewhere in there, the action is basically decent. But who cares if the film is boring, primitive and it’s not clear who it was made for, the only worse thing is its sequel, but it’s already a clinic. And it’s impossible to blame Anderson, because he wanted to do well, he could do well, he did well, until the studio took him by the gills. And the result was a bad movie that you want to forget like a bad dream. This is not what the fans deserve. Don’t watch it under any circumstances, especially if you’re a fan of you-know-who. Thank you, FOX, you killed Futurama, you killed Alien vs. Predator, you did great. Yes, I completely forgot, the film is one-shot.
Foxy really screwed it up. The film collected a box office of a considerable 170 million, but essentially destroyed the nascent franchise, because fans did not appreciate this approach to their favorite characters. Audiences were furious, critics were furious, Paul W. WITH. Anderson was furious because his brainchild was turned into a kindergarten and obscurantism. He was so furious that he left cinema for four long years, starting producing his beloved “Resident Evil” and all sorts of guano for the mentally retarded, such as “Dark Forces”. And only the offer to make a remake of the cult “Death Race” brought the director back into the fold. With new strength and a fresh head, he rushed to conquer the world of loud cars and big guns, with Jason Statham at the helm. And I was right.
Death Race (2008)
Plot twists and turns:Three-time champion driver Jensen Ames jailed for murder he didn’t commit. Instead of releasing him, his jailers force him to participate in a bloody competition with the most notorious criminals. Herondondon:Delight. Storm. Madness. I love Death Race. It has everything a good action movie needs – cars, guns, hardcore action, explosions, Jason Statham. If only Scott Adkins had been in the film, I would definitely have cried with delight. It’s incredibly interesting to look at the local feast of violence, because the director was able to make the film truly cool, exactly the kind of hardcore and no-nonsense entertainment that the first “Expendables” should have been. Very cool, not least thanks to the napalm-burning Statham. And now objectively, putting aside my love for action films of varying degrees of trashiness. The film is not bad, but nothing more. The plot here is simple and idiotic, not as idiotic as in the original, but it’s not far off, and local plot twists can make you laugh hysterically, because honestly, that’s not how it’s done anymore. Well, besides violence, there is nothing in the film, that is, in general, no thoughts, no conclusions, nothing superfluous. A harsh and senseless mochilo, which will not appeal to everyone, because even the coolest action can tire. And if he doesn’t tire you, then you’ll drag along just like me, now such action films are a terrible rarity.
Unfortunately, let’s state the fact – the time for such blockbuster action films is long gone. The film somehow managed to collect $70 million from around the world, although it didn’t really help cover the budget of $45. Later the film will be released on video, which will allow two worthless sequels to be born, but that’s a completely different story. Something else is much more important – Paul returns to the film that once brought him back to glory, to the good old “Resident Evil”. And even in 3D!
Resident Evil 4: Life after death in THREE DE (Resident Evil: Afterlife – 2010)
Local, God forgive me, plot: Alice continues her journey in a world affected by a viral infection that turns people into the undead. The heroine is looking for survivors to lead them to safety. Her mortal battle with the Umbrella Corporation reaches a new level…And that’s it. There is no more plot in the film.

So how: Well… strange. In theory the film is poor. There is no plot in it. The connection with the game disappeared in the third film. Heroes are idiots. Dialogues are poor. Twists are stupid. During scenes where no one is shooting, you want to sleep. But. BUT. When the action starts, when the divine soundtrack starts playing, I forgot all the obscenities that were on the tip of my tongue, because the shooting scenes here are cheerful, beautiful and in general everything is filmed very cool. You know, for me personally this film is such a very guilty pleasure – you seem to understand that the movie is outright garbage, but you can’t help it and enjoy it. Yes, Anderson goes too far with slow-mo, but that didn’t stop me from enjoying the film a lot. And even the local TRI DE is very on topic, done well. This is a movie for those who love with their eyes and the recipe for enjoying it is simple – sit with friends, drink beer, watch coins fly out of the screen in THREE DE, laugh at the stupid plot. Are you happy.
A dying franchise has taken off again. The film brought the creators $300 million, which was a huge success, especially compared to the third part. And while work began on the next sequel, Paul went into some strange, but also seemingly logical jungle. Quite recently, Guy Ritchie’s “Sherlock Holmes” died down in cinemas, the theme of a reboot of the classic in an action-packed key. And it’s really logical, why not make it like Richie’s, but take not a story about a brilliant detective, but about the three musketeers. And so that there is action. And the musketeer assassin. And a flying ship. And jokes. And parkour. And the director’s wife played Milady. And Orlando Bloom is on AIDS. And slow-mo. AND THREE DE. AND…

A THOUSAND CHARACTER: Essentially the same fourth “Resident Evil”, only about musketeers and less impressive. Not in terms of the fourth part, that there are zombies jumping around, but in terms of how it’s all done. Slow-mo again, Milla Jovovich again, even the action is somehow subtly similar. But there is a plot here, but thanks to the book for that. The film is certainly spectacular, the actors have a blast in their roles, but enjoying this entertainment is hampered by the overwhelming idiocy of what is happening, before which even the director’s previous film shudders, because there is a huge amount of nonsense, wildness and oddities mixed in here. And as a result, the attraction film is more boring than entertaining. If Guy Ritchie, interpreting the plot of a literary classic, was able to find a balance between entertainment and authenticity, then Anderson shoves whatever he wants into the film and it doesn’t matter whether it all fits together or not. Aaaaand, what a surprise, the film is completely disposable, you definitely won’t watch it again.
Paul did not inspire people with his work to go to the movies. Of course, 136 million is not the worst figure, but the director was aiming for a franchise, and with such fees there is no smell of a franchise. We won’t say anything about the reviews, because everything with them is very regrettable. And rightly so – there’s no point in twisting the classics so poorly. And so Paul ran to where he is still loved – to “Resident Evil”.

And that’s all here, without a light. You look at all the obscurantism going on here and it doesn’t touch your heart or soul at all. There is still no plot, this is even worse, because everything looks like a compilation of not the most outstanding video clips. If you wanted to see the perfect embodiment of the phrase “Removed for the sake of money,” then here it is. And for the sake of Milla Jovovich’s career, because without “The Abode” there will be neither the first nor the second. It’s sad, but the atmospheric horror action movie has re-qualified itself as a spectacular dud for kids, because if the fourth part was still somehow catchy with its fresh approach to the franchise, then I don’t even know if the very narrow-minded will like it. And the word “Disposable” does not fit here
It’s a pity, but no one cares about my whining, because the film grossed $240 million. Less than the fourth part, but the result is still very decent, especially for such a poor film. Most likely, Paul sensed something was wrong, this time the hate exceeded the usual norm, even loyal fans sensed that the franchise had completely, completely, completely outlived its usefulness. In order to take a break from the zombies and his wife, Paul starts filming, this is the turn, more or less serious movie. The grandiose historical epic “Pompeii” promises a lot – it promises tragedy and love against the backdrop of ashes, it promises a grandiose spectacle, seasoned with emotions and experiences unusual for the director. And this ruins absolutely the entire perception of the picture, because the dramatic component of the picture is at the forefront, but it is dead, like the acting of the main characters. In the end, everything is bad, because if the main component of the picture does not work, then everything else is no longer important. Let everything burn and explode in a very epic way, but you still have to wait until then (It’s just patience, Browning and Harington’s attempts at acting are depressing). No matter how sad it is, it sucks again, this time at least with the pretension of a good film. Except it sucks for $100 million, so the stakes are pretty high. The film scribbled 97 million, everyone hated it and immediately forgot. Fair? In principle, yes, you had to understand what you were going to shoot. And again pushed Anderson into the abyss of his beloved franchise..

Paul had every chance to become an outstanding filmmaker, although every time something went wrong – either the studio killed a good concept, then cut the film beyond recognition, then the audience did not go, or the director himself got up on the wrong foot and filmed a popcorn trinket, overloaded with special effects and bright, but quickly boring action. Without a doubt, Paul is a good visionary – all his films look very stylish and “tasty”, but as for the internal fullness, it’s very, very sad. And not everything is good with the visuals, because it is all without a doubt very beautiful, but it is too cumbersome and overloaded with unnecessary fake whistles, the director simply lacks the sense of proportion and taste that Zack Snyder once had. He’s not bad, and at his peak he’s very, very good, but let’s be honest, he doesn’t deserve cult fame. Although I could.
