How to do software noise reduction in real time (version 2.0)

Hello everyone, I’m sure that many were interested in this opportunity, when you don’t need to edit the video separately, just to make noise reduction of any audio.(for example, either all sorts of Let’s Play games, or a recording of a guitar. Everything that is recorded with a microphone at a minimum, at most you can even pull out the Skype sound and process it on the fly)

Personally, I wondered about streaming, but because of the hissing microphone, the whole idea disappeared. After quite a long time of googling, I finally found a way to enable VST plugins using Adobe Audition and output the desired sound to a virtual audio device.

Upd: About two years https://captain-spins.co.uk/login/ ago, I already created a similar blog, in which I described a working system based on the Vsthost/BloXpander/asio and Virtual audio device programs. But, as practice has shown, in rare moments the sound, out of nowhere, began to produce artifacts: crackling, buzzing and even more scary words, I had to delete the previous video and look for another solution. 2 years have passed, and now, finally, after a month of tests under load under all sorts of different games/programs, etc., I can paint a really working one at least for me way to do it all.

Actually, in this video I explained everything in great detail, at least I hope. If not, then I expect additional questions)

I didn’t mention it in the video, but in Audition itself near the audio device settings, the output should also be the same with Windows audio devices, i.e.e. 24bit 48000 Hz.

If you are confident that you can handle it and set it up yourself, then you need 2 programs:
1) Adobe Audition itself
2)VB-audio Cable (Unlike another popular analogue – Virtual Audio Cable, this one is free and I did not have any problems with installation/configuration)

The load on my processor (Core2quad 2.4 ghz (overclocked to 3.2 ghz)) is a maximum of 5-10% depending on vst plugins (shown in the video). I’ve done a lot of streams, and I’ve never had the same situation with artifacts as with vsthost/bloxpander/asio. It may, of course, still happen, but in this case in much rarer cases than with the previous method of noise reduction.

If anyone has the same problem that I described above, please write about it in the comments.
